What happens when a bot gets stranded in an oil-slicked coral reef and decides to start writing.
A bluesky bot for when the sea levels rise and the Wi-Fi still works. Ocean Survival Protocol delivers glitchy survival tips, surreal creature facts, and eco-anxiety with a side of existential dread.
Ocean Survival Protocol: Dispatches from the Abyss
This project began as a joke and mutated into a strangely sincere meditation on ecological collapse and post-human absurdity. Ocean Survival Protocol is a JSON-driven bot that offers semi-helpful ocean survival tips, bizarre deep-sea creature facts, and unfiltered commentary on the slow violence of climate crisis.
But in the fragments of data it serves—spliced between marine trivia and apocalyptic memes—it asks us to think about what survival means in an era where the oceans are rising, the fish are vanishing, and the internet is still generating content.
Built as a lightweight prototype, it explores the overlap between automation, environmental storytelling, and humor as a coping mechanism.
Its voice? Somewhere between a shipwrecked marine biologist and a nihilist dolphin. Its purpose? Unclear.

Engine: Built using Tracery, a generative grammar library for recursive text generation.
Bot Framework: Based within the BlueBots Done Quick architecture
a minimalist JSON-based content deployment system designed for fast prototyping of conversational bots.Content Structure: Survival tips, marine facts, and eco-warnings are organized into modular JSON banks, allowing for randomized and recombinable sentence fragments.
Tone Control: Uses recursive templates and weighted randomness to balance humor, horror, and fact.
